Douglas S. Huffman

Douglas S. Huffman is Professor and Chair of Biblical & Theological Studies at Talbot School of Theology, Biola University. Prior to Biola, he was Professor of Biblical & Theological Studies at Northwestern College. He is the recipient of numerous honors and awards, including the NWC Excellence in Scholarship Award (2009) and the NWC Excellence in Teaching Award (2001), and is a member of the American Council on Education Fellows Program (2002–03). He is also an ordained minister in the Evangelical Free Church of America (EFCA).

Dr. Huffman has contributed to numerous publications, including The Theology of the Acts of the Apostles: Using Luke’s Compositional Style as a Guide to Interpreting Acts (Lewiston, N.Y.: Mellen, forthcoming), “Martyrdom in the New Testament” and “Persecution in the Early Church” in The Baker Handbook to the Bible (Grand Rapids: Baker, forthcoming), The Handy Guide for New Testament Greek: Grammar, Syntax, and Diagramming (Grand Rapids: Kregel, forthcoming), Verbal Aspect Theory and the Prohibitions in the Greek New Testament (Studies in Biblical Greek; New York: Peter Lang, forthcoming), and 74 articles in the Baker Illustrated Bible Dictionary (Grand Rapids: Baker, forthcoming).

He is also the editor of How Then Should We Choose? Three Views on God’s Will and Decision Making (Grand Rapids: Kregel, 2009) and Contributing editor of Christian Contours: How a Biblical Worldview Shapes the Mind and Heart (Grand Rapids: Kregel, forthcoming) and God Under Fire: Modern Scholarship Reinvents God, with contributing editor Eric L.
